Nurturing Our Ummah UK was established in 2024 by a small, dedicated group of Muslim professionals with over 20 years of collective experience in the fostering sector. Our initiative was born out of a critical observation: a significant shortage of Muslim foster carers, unable to keep pace with the increasing number of Muslim children entering the care system across the UK.

Our primary mission is deeply rooted in our commitment to the well-being and spiritual preservation of young Muslims. We aim to protect the religious identity of Muslim children who find themselves in the foster system. In today's UK, it's increasingly challenging for young Muslims to stay connected to their faith, prayer, and Islamic studies. Many children in care, without culturally and religiously sensitive placements, risk losing their connection to Islam.
We believe every child deserves a loving home that understands and respects their background. For Muslim children, this means a home where their faith, culture, and traditions are not just tolerated, but actively nurtured. We strive to place these children with Muslim carers who can guide them on the right path, ensuring their spiritual and emotional growth within an Islamic framework.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure there are enough Muslim carers available for every Muslim child who enters the care system. Beyond this, we are committed to moving forward with the broader initiative of ensuring all children, if their parents are comfortable, can access a loving home, regardless of background, because every child deserves stability and care.

We operate nationwide, with the majority of our current cases focusing on England, but our commitment extends to supporting Muslim families across the UK in finding their perfect fostering match.
